City of dreams
class: Painting
year: 2016
For this project I was inspired by not only cities but also by nature. Cities are beautiful for their tall sky scrapers and bright lights. And beaches are amazing for their wide view of the sky and the relaxing sounds of the waves. I was struggling on choosing between the both but with the help of Mrs.Singleton', I put two in one. My favorite piece from this project was the sky. I had to use the technique of blending two shades to make one shade before switching on to a new color. From the sun, the color started off light and then went on getting darker. I left the city as a silhouette to not add as much detail, and that turned out looking well. The colors i chose for this painting went very well together and the shade made the sunset look amazing, I wanted the colors to be calm and warm for the sun, then cool for the water. From this project I got a chill feeling.

Crazy blue
class: painting
year: 2016
materials: pencil, watercolor brush, masking tape, water colors, water , paper towels, and water color pencils.
This is the first watercolor painting I have done and I learned so much from it. I learned that water color doesn't take much time to complete which saves me time. But water color is so hard to work with, you can't control the paint or go over your mistakes. I tried to control the paint by placing masking tape, but when i removed it, it managed to bleed through some places. At first I didn't like but after a bit it added texture to her hair. The meaning to this piece is peace. A symbol of peace to me are butterflies. I added butterflies to her breasts because it would be different instead of having them flying around. I was worried the butterflies wouldn't turn out and would bleed through so i used watercolor pencils which were easier to work with. The background was my favorite part because the rubbing alcohol made different designs which gave it a calm feeling. With this being my first watercolor i was really pleased with this project, it came out as I imagined it to.

Kind souls
class: painting
year: 2016
materials: pencil, modeling paste, pallet knife, ruler, acrylic paint.
A huge problem today is homelessness. People now a days are greedy and selfish only caring about themselves. But we have to understand that we are all people and we need to help one another. Not only by your societies "class" but by all. For this project I was focusing on problems that have been going on for a while and still go on now. There are so many people out there that don't have half of the things we have like food, clothes, shelter, money. That's why my mom taught us to always be grateful for what we have. I decided to paint a city in the background because big cities have a high percentage of homeless people. The person sitting on the ground represents a homeless person and the person standing beside him represents someone who doesn't have much money, but is still willing to help. The lady on the side is just starring at the man while he gives to the homeless man. The lady also has shopping bags in her hands but has nothing to give to the less fortunate man, which shows selfishness. My favorite part of this project was the brick wall, I loved the texture it had , and the molding paste did help. The colors also went well with the city, The blues and oranges went well for this painting because it gave it that city glow and feeling. I chose this title because the people who give , even if its a little and actually try to help out others are amazing people, with huge hearts and kind souls.

Late night tacos
class : painting
year: 2016
Materials: brush, masking tape, paint, Palet knife , palet and paper towels.
For this art piece I was inspired by the darkness and light in overall places. Light as in light in cities , in cars, or even a street light has always inspired me. I really like how light and darkness go well together to create a theme kinda, making the light the main focus and the darkness just a background. I chose green, orange , and purples for my colors. I chose green for my main color , because when I think allies I think shades of greens. Green is a good color to represent darkness. I chose my main focus to be the window and I chose purple for it. The window represents light and brightness. My last color was orange and that was gonna be the color I used for the person, dog, dumpster , and background light. I did good on the window , but I need to practice on putting colors together, even if it's very little.
